A series of two meetings in Hamburg on May 8+9 marked the start of a large German project. In 15 (!) year time, a corpus-based lexicon will be developed. The German corpus is similar to other corpus projects (such as those for Auslan and NGT) in collecting a systematic large data set from different regions in a country, but adds the aim of creating an online dictionary and research lexicon on the basis of the corpus that is created.

The meetings in Hamburg served to embed the project, which is carried out by the University of Hamburg, in the German deaf community and research community.

See the project homepage for more information.
