To better acquaint you with the Deaf Studies Department at CSUN, here is some information about us:

• CSUN is located in the San Fernando Valley area of sunny Southern California (25 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles)
• We offer a BA degree program in Deaf Studies with six different concentration areas to choose from: ASL/English Interpreting, ASL and ASL Literature, Deaf Cultural Studies, Pre-Deaf Education, Deaf Community Services, Deaf Cultural Studies, and Special Option (individualized program).
• We currently have 475 declared majors, five full-time faculty including a Department Chair, seventeen adjunct faculty, and five staff members (office staff, interpreting staff and academic advisement staff).
• We are active in sponsoring a number of campus and community activities including Social Justice Conferences, Distinguished Guest Speakers, ASL & Deaf Theatre Productions, student retreats, and many other exciting events.
