ASL PROGRAM DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR
Growing American Sign Language and Interpreting major/minor at Goshen College seeks a full-time Program Director/Instructor. Responsibilities will include teaching upper level ASL-English Interpreting and related courses as well as oversight of internships and continued program development. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Faculty responsibilities begin Fall semester of the 2010-2011 academic year.
PhD preferred, Master’s degree required, in linguistics, education, sign language interpreting or a related field; prefer multicultural experience; ASLTA certification or working toward certification. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, be supportive of a liberal arts curriculum, demonstrate skill in the ASL-English interpreting process, and be supportive of a bicultural understanding of the Deaf and hearing communities.
