Since the end of 2008, dr. Marleen Jansen holds the first chair in deafblindness that we know of. The University of Groningen in the Netherlands installed this chair in the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

There is a press announcement from the University of Groningen, and information on a one-day symposium (in February 2009) to celebrate the start of this chair. A MA programme Communication and Congenital Deafblindness is being taught for the current academic year.
