Meeting Description:

The LingCologne 2019 Multimodality conference brings to the fore the relevance of conceiving of language in a unified way: encompassing SPOKEN and SIGNED languages, GESTURE and WRITING. Considering multiple channels of expression will highlight the fundamental multimodality and semiotic diversity of language. The conference focuses on a multimodal view of language and provides insights into the interactions of different language modalities (oral-vocal, visual-gestural and written modality) and the systems underlying these interactions.

Call for posters:
We invite submissions of abstracts for poster presentations contributing to the topic of multimodal language. Contributions focusing on various interactions of different language modalities (oral-vocal, visual-gestural and written) are particularly welcome. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed anonymously.

– Abstracts should not exceed 250 words (excluding references, pictures, tables or diagrams). Abstracts must be anonymized and sent in pdf format via email to lingcologne-2019uni-koeln.de
– The organizing committee will award 3 Best Poster Awards to the best three submitted poster abstracts. The prize is the re-imbursement of the travel and accommodation costs in value of up to 500 Euro.

Notification of acceptance April 1, 2019

The languages of the conference are English and International Sign (BSL and DGS interpreters will be available, if needed). There is no registration fee for this event.
