beppieBeppie van den Bogaerde (PhD in Linguistics, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 2000) is associate professor of Deaf Studies at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands. She has been involved in the training of teachers and interpreters of NGT (Sign Language of the Netherlands for years, and also coordinates the master program of Deaf Studies of UUAS. She leads a research group that focuses on research in the didactics of NGT teaching, interpreting issues and Deaf Studies. Her interests are Sign Linguistics, Psycholinguistics and Sociolinguistics. She has published on sign language acquisition of deaf and hearing children, teacher and interpreter education and on Deaf culture.
