The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Göttingen invites applications for a
Position as Research Assistant (50% TV-L 13) – ID 12946 the Department of German Philology. The position is initially available for 18 months (with a possible extension, depending on funding resources) starting at the next possible date.
Associates will primarily be expected to write selected chapters of a reference grammar of German Sign Language (DGS). The reference grammar is an essential part of a multilateral European joint project (The SIGN-HUB, www.sign-hub.eu) and will be composed in close collaboration with the project partners.
Applicants are expected to have an MA degree in linguistics or a related field with a special focus on sign language grammar; they are also expected to do research in sign language linguistics and to be open to empirical methods and linguistic theories. Other requirements include the capability to work in a team and the commitment to international collaborations.
